Volunteering

Action East Devon relies on the generosity and energy of our volunteers to support us in the delivery of our services.

Current Volunteering Opportunities

Trustee with Action East Devon
Are you passionate about supporting your local Community? Would you like to help support those most in need? Do you have some spare time and want to give something back to your Community? Do you have energy, drive and commitment?

If so, then Action East Devon is the place for you.
We are looking for volunteer trustees to join the Board to help steer the organisation through a challenging but very exciting time. Call Charlotte Hanson on 01404 549045 or email charlotte.hanson@actioneastdevon.org.uk

Passing Matters Volunteers are needed to help run our information sessions and/or to offer companionship to people in the end stages of life. Everyone has the right to a good death, but less than 30% of us have had a conversation with family members about their wishes for end of life. (Dying Matters Coalition). Call Gill Amos on 01404 549 049 or email gill.amos@actioneastdevon.org.uk

Cranbrook Library needs volunteers to welcome children and adults to the Library and IT suite at Cranbrook Community Centre. As well as a selection of books, there are 8 computers which members of the public can use without charge. It would be useful, but not essential, for volunteers to have basic IT skills so that they can assist anyone using the computers.
Call Keith Johnson on 01404 549 049 or email keith.johnson@actioneastdevon.org.uk

Axe Valley Volunteer Visitors will provide support to the Client. This support could take the form of visiting the client at home for a cup of tea and a chat or a visit in the local area. Visits will last around an hour and will be carried out Monday to Friday, between 9 and 5. We would welcome volunteers who could spare 2 hours per week if possible to support 2 clients.
Comprehensive induction training is provided along with ongoing supervision and expenses are paid. It's a great opportunity to learn more about supporting older people who are socially isolated whilst being involved in an exciting and innovative project. Call Gill Amos on 01404 549045 or email gill.amos@actioneastdevon.org.uk
